Finnish Eos driver
« on: December 19, 2015, 08:26:12 am »
Hello guys!

I've been reading this forum for a while now and found that you have shared a lot of good information here. I'm driving a samoa red 2007 VW Eos 2.0 TFSI with a DSG that I've done some mods on. It's not easy to find any Eos specific information online about modifications but luckily the car is pretty much identical to the mk5 GTI under the bonnet.

Here are some of the mods I've done so far:

Engine
APR Stage 1 tune
GFB DV+
K&N panel filter

Chassis
H&R Twintubes (low version)
Powerflex dogbone mount insert
9x19" Bentley GT wheels in chrome with 225/35R19 Fulda SportControl tires

Interior, ICE and other comfort mods
Golf R32 MFSW steering wheel with shift paddle extensions
Aluminium dead pedal
Euro cup holder
RNS-510 with original BT module
Dynaudio front speakers
Match PP 82DSP amp
Focal IBus 20 active subwoofer
PolarFis Advanced
Module to enable raising/lowering roof while moving and with key fob
Eberspächer heater with a mobile phone app control

Bodywork
Chrome mirror covers
Chrome badgeless grill

The car already had an OEM body kit (consisting of front and side skirts as well as a boot lid lip spoiler) when I bought it which makes a world of a difference in my opinion. I always saw the Eos as a proper hairdresser's car but this body kit made this individual really stand out from the crowd.

Now I'm really contemplating on whether going for an intake, an HPFP upgrade and a downpipe and getting it retuned makes sense. If I were to go that way my choices would most likely be a Revo intake, HPFP upgrade from Loba, some generic eBay downpipe with a 200 cel cat and APR stage 2/2+. But even with saving on the downpipe I'm still looking at total costs of around 2 k€ which is quite a lot for a gain of roughly 20-30 bhp.

Other mods I'd like to make happen at some point include at least the front suspension where I really need to add some negative camber to allow for more room for the wheels. I'd love to get it bagged but with the boot space already being limited that's just a no go.

Here are a couple of images to end my long introduction with:

During Easter I spent about six hours in the garage with my dad installing new parts. I went with a 3" downpipe with a 300 cel ceramic cat, Loba's upgraded HPFP and REVO's cold air intake. Yesterday I got it updated from stage 1 to stage 2 at my local APR guy. The engine bay will later receive a painted TTS engine cover and Porsche oil and coolant caps.

Next up might be camber plates and possibly a bit stiffer anti-roll bars. Also some fresh paint and a visit to a detailer are planned for the spring. Hopefully some good pics as well once everything is looking shiny.
