R-Tech VNT sticky turbo vanes repair   http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/393599.aspx

In 90% of cases this will stop overboost limp mode, return better MPG and make the car more responsive.

We also blueprint the VNT fittings and shims to allow for more clearance to help stop it happening again.

I have managed to save around 60+ Tdi owners £1200 each after main dealers have told them they need new turbo unit to stop the overboost.  :happy2:

When a edc16 1.9 2.0 TDI see 400mb overboost condition for more than 10 seconds then main fuel IQ map reverts to a generic setting for limp mode to reduce the engine power output, but becuase the VNT is sticky the turbo will continue to overspool/boost.
The constant overspool/ boosdepend on vanes position, but both conditions cause heat build up and can warp / melt the turbine tiops and vanes.  This happend more so on cars running stock mapping and can happen with less than 50k on the clock.

Pics of a VW Touran 2.0TDI 55k stock mapping which had the 17965 fault for 6month, this one we could not fix due to the melted parts..lol

I hope by posting this it saves someone splashing out £1200, when a basic £235 strip down and clean will fix the over boost in 90% of common 17965 faults.
