People with Boost Gauges - Boost Pressure
« on: May 09, 2011, 02:07:58 pm »
im having promblems with my car

it runs fine and very smooth still but is heavily under powered.

It ran 233 bhp and 330 ft/lb or torque on awesome rolling road on saturday. This is a stage 2 golf gti, with bluefin software.
It has a 3" non resonated Milltek TBE and a carbonio induction kit with a piper cross panel filter - (i know this needs upgrading lol)

here is what the car is currently boosting at

1st = -1HG upto 1psi
2nd = 5psi
3rd = 8-10psi
4th = 10-12psi
5th = 15psi
6th = 15-16psi

What sort of boost figures are other people getting.

Heres my graph if this helps, its been suggested to change the PCV system as there are signs of possible leaks around the o-ring

do these figures for boost seem strange?? could it just be the pcv system why im not boosting very high or could it be related to the software

any help is much appreciated

thank you

You really want to log your requested vs actual boost using vcds to see if there is a boost leak or if it's just how the bluefin software is coded.

.
I'm on Revo2 and generally my boost gauge shows 22 Hg when engine idling at 7,500 revs and no more than about 22 psi under hard throttle but I need to double check that psi value.

The boost values change rapidly without any lag when driving.
