N75 Replacement - But I have Forge DV... UPDATE
« on: October 07, 2011, 04:44:58 pm »

I did a search on the 06F 906 283 F N75 Valve as Im going to replace mine as some 'process of elimination fault finding',

Is it possible to fit the OEM N75 if I have the Forge DV fitted, I read on here Forge possibly modify the N75?

I can collect one from the dealer in the morning, would I need anything else?

Thanks in advance chaps

I cant see how having the Forge DV would cause you any problems fitting a N75 valve?

I flicked through it BUT at the end of the day, if you replace a part that is like for like how can there be a problem.

The thread in your link looks to me as if he has got the wrong part number..

Will ring Forge before my trip to VW to double check exactly which OEM part is used when installing the DV

Yes there are no contraindications to doing so.

I read on here Forge possibly modify the N75?

No they don't! The only way the N75 duty cycle is affected by a dv is if it's faulty or sticking open.
Without traction power is nothing!

Looking at that thread I would be confused how the DV is linked to the N75, looks like one is on the turbo directly and the other especially on your car is miles away round the front of the engine bay. you should be able to monitor N75 duty cycle Mike, think it was dealt with and a funn flutter on boost in another thread recently.

i run a forge diverter valve with a standard n75 but instead of buying a new one i am thinking on changing to a forge manual boost controller and see how that works + they are pretty cheap, dunno if it will work but for 40 quid ill try it haha

So I hit the problem I was asking about...

I got the part no 06F 906 283F from my Seat  parts contact in the Uk.  Collected it from parts counter local to me this morning.

The N75 on my car has had the P/n ground off, you can just see the edge of the P from pierburg left.  It makes me think the groove At the bottom right of the plug has been ground off by forge too. The new OEM won't fit in the plug on the car as it doesnt have the cut out. FFS  :fighting: :fighting:

time to get the file out mike! that is so odd that you have to modify the N75 as well makes me think the forge is less than optimal, think they are based in gloucester do you want me to drop by and ask them what the feck they are doing!

I would say yes but they're closed lol.

Phoned Awesome where I bought the Forge;

The n75 next to my forge that I just tried replacing is from a tdi, apparently theres another N75 near the brake reservoir...

When I did a google search yesterday all that came up where on the turbo.  So have they essentially told you your part is fine it will fit on the rear.  maybe forge are using a TDI part for some sort of pressure sensor so the ECU knows what the forge DV is doing? i.e if it is open or closed?
