Audi S3 intercooler upgrade

What is needed to install the s3 cooler on a gti? Also is there any modifications required?

Just the intercooler and the two pipes.

What two pipes are needed? Also I have 2005 would that need altering? Do u mean modifying one of the pipes to fit?

This is what you need



The connector on the end of the Turbo discharge pipe is slightly different depending on the year. If you get the year where it's not a straight fit (RH Pipe in the pic) then you can cut the end off and use a connector from forge to get it to fit.

Thanks Carl, have you got a part number for the S3 intercooler? I know theres 2 different types 1 being the plastic ended?

S3 Intercooler - 1K0 145 803P

Left Pressure Hose - 1K0 145 834 AA

Right Connection Hose - 1K0 145 832 L

Not sure wether that is for the old one or the new one with plastic end tanks. I would have to check with ETKA which i won't be able to do till later this evening.

It must be where the Mk6 GTI gets the extra 10 bhp than the MK5 GTI lol

The whole front of the car has to be removed to install it - Hence the labour costs.

IIRC it sits between the radiator and the aircon radiator.

There's a famous thread of a member here (illyun) who took over 11 hours to fit his intercooler and then had quite serious problems resulting afterwards. IIRC, JKM helped him out in the end.
