MK5 Suitcase Muffler Delete - Help & Advise !!
« on: February 28, 2013, 02:27:10 pm »
Anyone done it on their MK5, how loud is it in the cabin? and mainly....do you get any drone? as i cant stand that.....(ps, im in a DSG, so if in Drive Mode it can stay in low revs where most drone happens)

Input or link to previous topic would be great.

Thanks   :popcornsoda:

GarethB did it. He swapped it for a Milltek in the end as it was way to droney on the motorway.

You would be better off buying a decent cat back or having a custom one made  :happy2:

i note you're in Bradford. i'm back in Leeds visiting my parents the weekend after next for Mother's day. if you meet me somewhere near Elland Road on the Saturday late morning i can take you out for a spin. i have a full BlueFlame TBE with the suitcase deleted but with a middle resonator. i don't have a bad thing to say about it.

send me a PM and we'll sort something out.

the only proviso is that i drive an A3 and i believe they have a bit more sound deadening than a Mk5

PS mine's a DSG too

That sounds good... although, it will be very hard to make a decision with it been a TBE, Maybe a different resonator and like you said more engine deadening - Just really hate drone.

Lot of people say the suitcase delete sounds very much like a Non-Ressi Milltek......correct or not?

Get a custom made one, Mine cost me £40 and had it made so it could be silenced with motorbike exhaust packing.

A picture explains better than trying to describe it, can be packed by removing the end in the same way as a motorbike exhaust can.
