CD won't eject from RCD500
« on: March 05, 2013, 04:21:30 pm »
Have just taken delivery of a car last week and only just checked the CD player (school boy error :stupid:)
Whilst it has taken 2 cd's and reconise they are they are in there, it won't play them or eject them.

Can anyone offer words of wisdom please

I can't really help, but have you read the manual carefully. It does'nt like trying to put disks in at the wrong time. The rcd510 mechanism sounds quite clunky to me, not sure how long they last.
if nobody else can help, last resort i'd take it out, take the cover off and have a poke about inside to try and get the mechanism back into sequence. This worked with my sony multi-changer when that had an electrical event and jammed up.
It's like broke anyway, so what harm can you do, you might get lucky if its a mechanical jam up.....

So just load another cd then eject the lot?

You push the eject button and partially insert another cd and slight lift/flick it upwards so it catches the cd thats in there so it knocks it t where it should be, and the cd ejected perfectly :happy2:
Not sure of the exact science but it works.
