bonnet release cable inop...

i think the cable may of snapped or come undone somewhere, any of you folk know of telling how, or if it has? Plus i cant gain access to the engine compartment..

is there no tension on the handle when u pull it? u can twist the front vw badge off to get in to the catch or jack the car up and take the osf wheel arch off just enought to get your hands in to pull the cable

id take the badge off, its far easier.....theres 3 bolts, 2 behind the badge and 1 behind the grill, you have to bend the grill up to gain access with a spanner or socket set.

yep, no tension on the release handle...

I take its a common fault with em? I had the badge off earlier, but all i could see was 2 bolts holding what looked like the latch in place.

mines is like that almost, it pops but wont release it keep meaning to get it looked at under warranty.

took the badge off, found the 2 torx screws, but cant see the third..

if your looking at the 2 screws then the third is on the left, behind the grill, you have to undoo the bottom of the grill (2 screws inside the bottom grill) then lift the whole grill up, and bend it out towards you, then you can see the third! HTH
