I know alot have you have done this for your MK5, so this is just a quick post for people with a MK5 or MK6.

Ok, so Picked up my new OEM TT/S3 short shifter (part number : 8J0711046E ) from Audi.

Watched this video on how to fit it:

The only thing is that the install for the MK6 is slightly different, the second clip he removes is not a metal one. Its a white plastic one, and you have to be very careful to to break it as i have read a few heavy handed Americans have

So here is the new one.

This is the clip you have to be careful of, lift it gently from both side, DO NOT try pry it sideways !!!

All fitted and back together:

So overall opinion: Feels really nice, you still get that great OEM feel, but with 20% less vertical movement, great OEM mod for £30.

The part number you list and the one in the pic you fitted end differend as it ends 051e

ending in 046E is the whole kit including the spring and washer, Part number you can see is just for the lever = 051E

Hope this helps.

Could be a better alternative to the Forge ones. I was considering one then saw one in the flesh. Very unimpressed on the quality to say how expensive they are.

You mean the forge one or the OEM S3 one?

Even the OEM doesnt look all that, but it gives a nice tight & sporty feel to it.
