MFD2 with AUX
« on: April 05, 2014, 06:28:00 pm »
Hi,

Probs been asked a million times, but which AUX cable shall I buy for my MFD2 with CD changer. Want to keep everything working ?

Just went to fit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-Polo-iPod-adapter-interface-iPhone-RCD-200-210-300-310-500-510-Connects2-/221227351049?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item33822d7c09

Open the whole dash up, got to the back and then realised the slot it needs to go in is being used by the CD changer. So I didn't want rid of that.

What do people use ?

Would this be the one to get ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aux-Line-In-Adapter-Cable-VW-MFD2-RNS2-and-so-on-for-iPhone-iPod-Mp3-/111182797571?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Terminals_Cabling_ET&hash=item19e302db03 - as the slot below looks free ?

Hi

You are having the same problem as me I took mine apart as-well. Purchased an item off of ebay but sent it back as I wanted to keep the CD changer (as the inbuild cd player only seems to want to play the first 5 tracks of any cd) so still wanted to keep the cd changer.

So I purchased item no 231254374637 off of ebay and threw it in. I enabled the aux in the mdf2 menu but still nothing

see my shared google drive for pics

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B86vjfEmv6p8X25UN3M3aHNlMTg&usp=sharing

I then read various other articles on

http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4569772-Installed-MFD2-and-Aux-in-not-working-help ......... and if you look at an article further down the pageby jetturbo

and

http://dataton.net/vw/nav/VW_aux_kit_for_nav-instructions.png

I made sure the wires were going to the prespective pins but still nothing. I was thinking of purchasing this now

http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/en/car-hifi-components/aux-terminal-adapter/aux-in-jack-retrofit-vw-rns-510-mfd2-cd-version

as these are colour coded and I can double check the pin out by the colour. Maybe I need a software update/maybe i don't im not too sure

did you ever figure yours out ?

Thanks

Nope :(

Took it all apart fitted the second link in the opening post and boom, no music.

Ripped it out, chucked it in the bin, put it all back together and cried a little.

I can't believe there is not decent information on this - who would want to loose their Sat Nav or CD changer, and why sell products that are clearly sh*t !

Oh well.

most of these only work on the newer sat nave, you can sometimes get round this by a pin swap
MDI Armrest & Glovebox kits
MDI looms , iPod, USB & lightening Iphone 5 leads
Armrests, cloth and leather
Retro fit Armrest 6 CD changer/Ipod dock kits
