How to retro fit a 6 CD changer, IPod, USB or MDI dock
First you will need a changer or dock and the correct loom.
1. Retro fit 1.8-meter standard quad lock loom. This will fit the IPod,USB and 6 CD changer.

2. Retro fit 1.8-meter MDI loom

3. Retro fit 1.8-meter MDI/Bluetooth combination loom

4. 6 CD changer

5. IPod dock

6. USB dock

7. MDI dock with a lightning, IPod and USB leads

I have added the links for the how to guides on fitting a head unit and armrest, as both will need removing.

T20 Bit + screw driver
Stubby T20 screwdriver
Start by lifting the gear no surround up, I didn’t bother removing it totally.

This will then expose the 2 screws to allow you remove the ashtray. The unplugs the switches and lighter socket.

The center console side panels have 1 screw right at the front. Remove this and pull downwards on the plastic and they pop out.

Now remove the 2 screws on each side.

The center console handgrips just pull out. Start at the top and pull towards you.

Each side of the center console has 2 screws, these are a bi$ch to get to. I would recommend using a stubby screwdriver.

Remove the small rubber mat in the cup holder and take the screw out.

I would recommend taking the handbrake leather cover off before removing the center console to save damage. You can see with some manipulation the whole console comes out.

Now add your new loom, and feed it down and under the carpet.

I have installed an MDI/Bluetooth combination loom so it was just a case of feeding the Bluetooth loom under the carpet on the driver’s side. VW precut the carpet.

Now refit all the parts and your done.
