Had the airbag light on for a few months. The kids often kick the connectors but VCDS clears it up. This time it kept coming back.

Had a fiddle about with the connectors under the passenger seat. Before i got the soldering iron out i decided to pull the centre vent and as i suspected i did not reconnect the light for the passenger side airbag. Muppet!  :stupid:

The drivers side (LHD) inner CV boot has been ripped for ages. For some reason just kept putting it off. Having already changed both outer CV boots this should be an easy one.

Took about 40 mins to get the drive shaft out most of this time was putting the car on axle stands and getting the centre cap out of the wheel without damaging it.

Probably not the recommended way to get the 6 bolts holding it on to the gear box but it worked.

Think the stealers have given me the wrong boot 1K0 498 201 D???

After another trip to the stealers got the correct boot kit. Unlike the outer joint i couldn't manage to get the bearings out of the cage so couldn't clean it 100% did the best i could and got it all back together.

It was not as straight forward as i thought. I struggled getting the 6 bolts into the gearbox. Two bolts got to 70nm but were not applying pressure to the drive shaft so i ended up using two of the old bolts.
I think the new cap at the end of the shaft may have been catching the bolts although i put the bolts in the drive shaft to make sure everything lined up ok.

In one year i've now changed 3 of the 4 boots knowing my luck the other one will go now.

The oil pickup pipe was a bit clogged. I have no idea how they normally look like...

I've mentioned dr color chip before. Seeing as i put a couple of nice chips in my wing when doing the cam belt.

Thought i would share.

The Road Rash Paint Chip Repair Kit includes:
1oz bottle of OEM match paint
4oz of SealAct blending solution
1 ultra paint brush
2 microbrushes
1 microfiber towel
1 nitrile glove
1 white blending cloth
1 instruction sheet

The chip.

I gave the panel a wipe with quick detailer then cleaned out the chip with an alcohol wipe.

I know it wont be perfect my goal here was to get the chip filled and flush with the rest of the paint. The last owner of my car was a blober the touch ups he has done look sh*t.

I used the blob, smear and level technic as per the instructions.

See gif below.

The finished result. The chip is pretty level. Once its dry i will try blending it a bit with the orbital polisher.

Will have a go at the other chip later.

Fitted the LED puddle lights i got from @Shoduchi It was a tight fit not much room for the wire and connector. The connection is not great i had to bend the pins and clean the connectors. I may cut the connector off the lights and splice/solder them in??

Yeah, told you about the tight fit. These closed puddle lights from Bold Sport are harder to fit. I was able to push the wire to the available space and push the light into its place, while making sure it worked well. Once well fitted you won't have to worry anymore.

I have open puddle lights from Aliexpress on my GT Sport that were much easier to fit, but I guess won't be so resistant to water/rain.

A bit more patience and you'll fit them to work well, I'm sure.

If they stop working as they should, just tell me. They're still on their warranty period.
