Central Convenience Module Swap
« on: February 09, 2015, 07:15:17 am »
Hello,

I am interested in swapping my CCM with a high end one.
I have the following code 1K0 959 433 AJ (2 doors).

Now, I couldn't find any exact data as to what codes fit my car.
From a previous topic (here) I found out the 2/4 doors module work for cars from MY 2007 onward. I have a MY 2008 car. So I should be fine.
But, there are a lot of different variations to a code...

For example, 1K0 959 433 BT can have Software 202 or 203 or 204. It may also have 42W or 50W.

So, than, my questions are the following:

1. What are the high end codes I/we should look for?
2. What other information about the new CCM should concern us (except the code)?
3. Is it better to have a CCM older or newer than the one installed in the car?

Thank you!

P.S. Here is a very good DIY about changing the CCM

End letter is all that matters and whether its for 2 or 4dr vehicles. Make sure you get UK/EU one with 434MHz freq for our remotes. US have different frequency.

I had a BT 2dr version which I just sold! Would have kept it for you had I known earlier! :sad1:

Hope that helps you Vlad!

Yep thats fine. Say 2 Tuerer (2dr) and MAX (highline)

Will need to reprogram lock/unlock on key fob, transfer coding with VCDS and then job done! Enjoy your extra convenience menu  :happy2:

Omar, all the CCM I saw on ebay (my code included) have "MAX" written on them.
Are you sure that MAX = highline?

Sorry I didnt know that, I take that back. BT is a highline part number though.

See this thread: BK 2dr version is used here:

Well, I installed the new CCM today.
The hardware installation is fairly simple (I used this tutorial).

Old:

New:

But coding the new Central Convenience Module was quite difficult.
By seeing @kevinm coding (in this topic), I got mine working. I modified a few information (like LHD/RHD) and a few other bits but the majority is the same.
Still, I can't access the comfort menu  :sad1:

From what I read, I have the highline Convenience/Comfort Control Module (CCCM), the highline Central Electronics Control Module (CECM) and highline Instrument Cluster.
Isn't this enough?
Do I also need the MFSW steering wheel computer?

Here is a full scan of my car:

Any advice is much appreciated  :notworthy:
@Eddie-NL , @omeydz  any thoughts?

P.S. The errors I get are from the Mk6 Climate control and the missing Air Quality Sensor, and from the small antenna I have fitted. So never mind these :)

No, because the old module was midline and did not have that capability.

have you made sure your coding looks like this for byte 18

sorry just checked your coding and its same as mine at the end

was the highline instrument cluster standard or have you had that changed as well

why did you find it hard to program it? what specific things did you change you mention rhd lhd you should just be able to program it quite easily?

Thanks for your post!
Yes, it is looking just like that.

It was difficult to code because I had a VCDS clone and I don't see all the bits (just like you see in the printscreen you posted where bits 0-4 are not visible).
First I went on each page and modified the coding by adding the same ticks as my previous one (I made screenshots of the original coding).
This ended in a wrong coding where, if I close the doors, the boot would pop open. When opening the boot the gas cap would also open.
Than I deleted all the bytes and only ticked the ones I had. This resulted in not being able to open the boot at all

Than, in the end, I copied kevinm's coding, made the RHD-LHD modification, boot pop and the last byte (he had fast scrolling active).
His coding: 989002085103087F2D0285057008DAC6909840
My coding: 98900A085103087F2D0285057008CA0180B800
Now everything is functional and as it was but I still don't have the Comfort Menu available  :sad1:.

sometimes unticking the box alone won't allow the convenience to work

in the coding box
copy the whole coding from the box and paste it in the box below
