Injectors
« on: April 07, 2015, 10:01:01 pm »
Pretty sure my injector on cylinder 4 is knackered, (intermittent misfire, changed plugs and coil packs, still there) so injectors is my next bet. Ive got some standard injectors lined up from a car a mate is breaking, but l was wondering what my other options are?
Are different injectors any better?
If lm looking to go stage 2 in the future would uprated injectors help?
What would be best?

Thanks in advance.

The first advice is have you fault scanned the car as a faulty injector should throw up an error code.

The upgrade option is to fit some Bosch 440cc injectors (sometimes called Audi RS4 injectors) but without a big turbo and high pressure fuel pump they are a bit overkill. But I like overkill and means any stage 3/4 plans are catered for.

I had it scanned, it came up with these codes:

Means nothing to me (!) hopefully someone else will be able to read VCDS.

Bosch 440's are different to RS4 injectors. One is for low pressure setups and the other for high.  :happy2:

It was a new OEM injector. Work cost about £250. Was done in about 3-4 hours.

It's a bit late now @bbfb10 but it can be worth buying a cheap ultrasonic cleaner from amazon, giving injectors a few cleans in that and seeing if it improves things.

It can be a good idea to do this as a matter of course on higher mileage cars as it goes a long way to restoring the original spray pattern.
