Title: Edition 30 diverter valve revision "G" NOW FITTED AND WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
Post by: Ashley g on May 01, 2012, 05:55:39 pm: My car has felt a bit down on power, so this afternoon I removed the diverter valve to check the diaphragm and sure enough it was split!
So I gave TPS a ring, and they tell me that my "C" valve has been superseded to a "G" valve so I went ahead and ordered one. Just wanted to check before it turns up tomorrow that this is the one to have, being stage 2

Revision G is a rubber diagram but a newer revision than the C which you currently have.

The revision D is a plastic piston type, which is said to be un-brakeable... but the can leak.

Post by: Ashley g on May 02, 2012, 01:20:07 pm: Oh my god!! I've just fitted my new diverter valve and it honestly feels like the car has another 80 bhp. No joke, the car is an absolute animal now! I knew it was down on power as it has never felt as quick as My old 8L S3 which was 250bhp
Seriously, it's well worth checking and takes less than 5 minutes to remove and refit. The best £33 I've ever spent, so happy with My car now!

I would be looking on an RS audi owners site for that, not a mk5 golf forum. After all, it might be a different one for a 2.5 litre engine , and not the 2.0tfsi.

Oh please!!! :confused:

D has never been been the correct Diverter valve for the BYD engine!!!!!!!!!!!

G is the one, and only OEM DV you need.

D was tried because of its more durable looking workings (plastic), without using a rubber type diagram which has been known over time to split, or over wear and tear is accelerated if the car is running more boost with an engine remap.

But it's since been proved by a tuner, that the D isn't as good as first thought and that G made better power delivery.(R-Tech)

It all started from someone saying there's another revision from another engine which had the same bolt holes , from another engine/turbo.

Just use Revision G.

Post by: alfboden on April 02, 2013, 10:12:14 pm: Does the engine cover need to be removed to get the back of the 3 bolts? I've got an ed 30 and the front 2 bolts are accessible but seems like the other one is hidden by the engine cover.

I still can't get decent access to 2 of the screws!

One of the screws is hard up against something else, can't see any way to get at it! Any tips or useful would be great. Sorry for the newbieness. I'm fairly competent with odd jobs like this usually!
