Axx and Bwa combined
« on: February 25, 2016, 02:10:30 am »
I am looking to combine an axx and Bwa due to fault , original engine is axx and was sold Bwa as part replacement these went together using top half axx and bottom Bwa now new problem on car and have parts there left over from these engines tho mechanic says they can't be combined as piston hits head? Is this right as given they are already combined i assumed it would be OK to put Bwa on top?

They work either way. I combined my AXX head with a bwa bottom end and it ran mint and pulled good power on a dyno too.

My timing chain snapped causing damage to the head so when I discovered my replacement engine (BWA) was goosed aswell I used the valves and got the (AXX) head skimmed and valves re set ect so (AXX) head (BWA) bottom end ran but with slight misfire put it into garage and garage said bottom end is away so need another, so u gave the. My(AXX) bottom end then receive a phone call  with bottom is not comparable  ??? WTF???

The head was skimmed as precaution it was a couple bent valves. The valves were reset and refaced was told it was minimum

Eather way I don't understand y it has just been took straight off the (BWA) bottom but won't go straight onto the original (AXX) from the head was skimmed it was running with a misfire but still driving then this guy takes engine out head off try's to put it back onto my (AXX) bottom end but not comparable? Can this even be explained ? Lol am I gone mad? am I crazy for letting this garage near my car?

Theyre 100% compatible with each other. I'd be going to a different garage
