Edition 30 re-map??
« on: May 05, 2016, 09:14:59 pm »
Evening Guy's im just reading up on remaps. What would be needed to do a stage1 on ed30 and what are the benefits or is it just best to keep it standard? I'm unsure whether to get 1 and what's the best everyone has used.

Definately get it mapped. Different car once mapped. Stage 1 should see you just over 300bhp. Niki at rtech is your man for mapping!
If it's manual budget for a clutch if it's dsg then no Probs there.
It's worth opening the cat up and smashing the inners out then welding it back together. Realy cheap mod or free of you DIY it! That should get you another 10-15bhp.

Then after that start saving for an intake system and turbo back exhaust system to go stage 2 ;)

Pre-cat delete.
New rev g DV
pcv system sorted.
new filters (intake would be great if not a drop in panel filter)
99 octane fuel... new fuel filter... etc...

usual stuff........

rtech also has a list of map requirements on their website.

A bone stock ED30 usually sees around 300hp from stage 1, but you might need an aftermarket high pressure pump and clutch.

Adding filters, exhausts, intercoolers etc will start getting you into the bigger numbers.....and consequently much shorter tyre life!

Revo and APR are the big names worth checking out. You won't be disappointed with either. I actually had a Superchips bluefin at stage 1, it was great as I could flash it back to stock myself for any warranty work (bought the car from a VW dealer). Now it's out of warranty I moved to revo
