VW Golf Mk5 door handle lighting installation instructions.
Bought from these guys!!!also fitting instructions kind of translated by me
http://www.gsbg-tuning.de/tuergriffbeleuchtung/golf-5-alu.html
I take no responsibility for anyone screwing up there car with this mod!!!
Similarly, the door handle lighting, this should actually be unlocked by VW.Since you have now purchased a conversion solution, the problem is otherwise resolved.

The driver's side so far is done, they just need to share with their original plug and the lights are working!

In the passenger side, they themselves must take action so that it lights up there too

Required parts!!!

Soldering iron,solder
And a little patience.
This work I am describing now takes no longer than 20 mins

Step1
Remove the window switch in the door panel
it should look like this

Step 2
Lift the switch on the bottom gently with a flat screwdriver or knife

Step 3
Now you see the board and the contacts, the 2 wires hanging on the door handle turn to explore them. The contacts are numbered from 1-4
We need contacts 1 and 2, so from the photo on the right it will be "1" and the left of it is "2"

Step 4
Black wire to "1" and solder ... not too much with the solder,a little drop should do just fine!!

Red wire to “2” and solder ... not too much again with the solder,a little drop again will do just fine!!

Step 5

It should look like this!!!

Carefully bend the leads downwardly

Step 6
Put the rubber mat back on it again and the lid

Be careful not to cut the wires

Everything is fitted again and ready

Not too difficult really!!!!

Alternatively, you can connect the wires directly to the door control unit and directly activate the control unit
Connecting the positive wire of the door handle lighting in the door control unit in each door - to connect the following pins

Driver: T32a/14
Passenger side: T32b/14
Rear left: T32e/14
Back right: T32f/14

Minus wire to each  T32* / 4

Coding of the door control units increase by 8

Operation of the lighting control

Turns on when low beam is switched
time is delayed about 2 minutes later when low beam is turned off.

.
I have to say that I don't see the point of this mod. Seems a lot of work to achieve very little - When do you ever need extra illumination to see the door handles? But... Of course... Each to their own.

Both my Octavia's do this. Granted i had to fit the ones in the vRS myself but it took all of about 10 mins to do.

I does actually look quite good in the dark. Plus it stops people who wear loads of Bling Ring scratching fook out of your door card trying to find the door handle.

Also the one's on the Octavia are behind the Handle itself

....Off topic I know, but you didn't really make much comment after our short ride. I assume the ride 'comfort' wasn't what you prefer.

It was fine mate  :happy2:

I was just after hearing what the car sounded like with Engine mounts fitted. As the wife is the one who drives my Blue Bullet the most  :sad1: if it was too intrusive she would hate it.

What make mounts do you have btw and are they road or race mounts (as i hear race mounts are a lot harsher noise/vibration wisre than the road ones)?

hi..

I made this mod too in my Golf Mk5, 4 doors .

In the front doors i connected the wires in 32 pins connector..  I use pin 4 and pin 14 and coded with vag-com.

It works great !!  when i turn all lights off the handle lighting stay on for more 2 minutes..   :happy2:

But i have a problem in back doors..

In back doors i have 18 pins connector and i dont now the pins to connect the wires to the lights work like front ..  :sad1:

Anyone know what are the pins ???

I have this option in vag-com to the back doors

my 18 pins connector :

some pictures of the front doors :

Thank for the help and sorry my english..  :happy2:

Hi
the door controllers in the back are the same as what I have, and are basic.
When I added this to my car I used the wiring loom for the electric window switch lights and joined two wires with a flat 2 pin connector male and female on the wires from the illuminated handle
