Michelin Pilot Super Sport
« on: February 10, 2012, 02:19:17 pm »
Just received the following email from Michelin,

We would advise that there should be a Michelin Super Sport in the tyre size of 225/40-ZR18, being available in late March early April however it will only be in a Standard load.  Unfortunately, there is no information regarding an extra load tyre becoming available at this moment in time.

Fingers crossed...

 :congrats:

Hope they sell  225/45 R17, 235/45 R17 and 235/40 R18 in Europe as well.
They already do these, but sell them in the USA only.

I'm told it's down to how/when Michelin France beleive their will be sufficient uptake on sales. Why they cant deduce this from current Uk sales of their existing/outgoing models is a mystery.

A forum mate in Germany did an enquiry at Michelin about 225/40 R18.
They just answered that this dimension is in the pipeline.

So a similar response then.
Roll on the XL size being rolled out - I can probably make my PS3s last till April.

Is the 235 available in extra load?

They have a '88' LI rating and a * (BMW) recommendation.
BMW uses them from factory  on their new M135i on front.
Nevertheless I'm shure they'll work fine on a GTI.
