ITG fitting
« on: February 16, 2013, 10:15:14 pm »
So got round to fitting the ITG Maxogen this weekend...

the odd dab of silicone spray here and there, and a little bit of wiggling before doing everything up and it seemed to go OK.

I do however have a  new rival for Kim Jong-il and big spiders,  as one of the most hated things ever.. hose clips  :fighting: - invented by the devil or what?

couple of pics..

Exactly the reason why I didn't buy a ITG or forge. ;-)

Doesn't Evoms kit also use at least 7 jubilee clips?

Not far off Steve. It is six if you include the fastener for the filter and the one that goes around the Evoms to the base. :happy2:

I'll take jc's all day long... It was the vw oem pipe clips that are the tough ones.

Spose I could invest in a proper tool for them and quit my whining..

Besides, beauty is in the eye of the beholder right? That's what my mum used to tell me..

Be aware, they are a noisy as people say they are... But what a great noise

Time will tell how long it will take before the grin is replaced with an annoyed frown and I look for an enclosed one.

I had a ITG Maxogen, an Evoms and a Twintake, am still tying to find one which I can live with. Never really saw the point of the Twintake's second cone but that may just be me. The Evoms and the ITG were both very good and did what they said on the tin but for me, too loud. Evoms looked a little more tiny and the Maxogen, more purposeful.

My next one is the APR/VWR thingymagig so depending on the noise of this one in the cabin it may well find its way into the For Sale section.

Same main body of the intake isn't it? Just a different end section ( no left turn and enclosed cone..)

Wonder it its possible just to get an end bit?
