How long to change a turbo ?
« on: February 26, 2013, 01:57:06 pm »
I know this is a bit of a stupid question and is more based on how competent you are but what is the rough time spent to change a turbo on the mk5 ? I think i got told it was 10 hours ? seems a bit steep to change a turbo ?

I was quoted 3 - 4 hours to swap out a turbo. 10 hours is definitely way over the top, are you sure there wasnt more work quoted within that 10 hours?

There must be a lot of other parts coming off for these sort of times.

What's the actual workshop VW time for replacement turbo?

Nope.. its to take out the k04 and replace it. Nothing else... they wanted £40+vat an hour for 10hours.. i think i will change it myself for the £500 that that they want to do it.
