Midline or Highline
« on: August 13, 2009, 03:06:32 pm »
Please could someone let me know the differences between midline and highline computer systems?

I've had my first MkV GTI (first VW) for only a month so I'm a complete novice with these things.

My Golf has a MFSW with the paddles for the DSG but no sat nav.

Is there an easy way to tell which one I've got?

TIA

Jim

Midline is exactly what it says on the tin really. The display on the screen is split by a line running horizontally through the middle.

It has less functionality.

Thanks Deako :happy2:

I'll have to look this evening. I cannot remember there being a line so hopefully it may be the highline.

I presume the line you mention is in the display graphics rather than a solid thing.

Although I couldn't recall seeing the line across the centre, I do remember seeing the gearselection numbers stacked on the r/h side rather than across the bottom, so I presume it must be the midline.

I'm far too old to be in the scouts - it looks like winning the badge for observation would have been an issue anyway!
