Electric fold door modules mk5 gti
Last Poster: Waj in FAQ's on Today at 01:22:08 pm
I’ve recently picked up some mirrors and installed them on my mk5 gti and also installed the door modules that came with them. The part numbers for the door modules are 1k0959793K for driver side and 1k0959792K for passenger side. When I put it all together the driver door went completely dead and only the new folding mirror switch I bought and the lock and unlock button have an il

I’ve had the same symptoms as you twice (although not the not starting bit).
Both times I’ve had petrol leaking from the HPFP into the engine.
First time it was the OEM seal that the piston runs in after upgrading to the Autotech piston and the second time it was the aftermarket seal on the part that houses the seal that the piston runs in (Integrated Engineering).

SKC for 2007 R32 in Southampton
Last Poster: gavmatt1978 in Mk5 General Area on Today at 07:51:19 am
Hi, can anyone recommend someone who can get the SKC for my car please? Looking to retrofit highline clocks. The new clocks are 972 and can be coded with VAG commander, just obviously can’t get the SKC off my current clocks???

Cheers

Re: Cold Air Intake Fitted - Too Loud? (help)
Last Poster: mjmallia in Mk5 General Area on Today at 07:32:04 am
They are still loud even with the ED30/S3 DV placement, as I relocated/plumbed my DV off the turbo to the ED30/S3 location to stop the heat soak that damages them and for much easier DV checks.

With also being the other side of 40  I sold it all and went back to original, even after the enclosed BMC CDA unit.

If you haven't replaced the CV axle bolts with new one there is a high possibility they came loose. Use some loctite on them 👍 Have you renewed the subframe bolts?

Lazy dsg gearbox??
Last Poster: BradMK5 in Mk5 General Area on May 31, 2025, 10:05:43 pm
Hi guys first post on this forum

Bought my gti back in september everything been sound until the last month where ive noticed the 3rd and 4th gear changes tend to be at around 2500/3500 revs and sometimes in 2nd and 5th gear too, ive recently had a fresh dsg service a couple days ago from a vag specialist (i thought that would’ve been the problem), i checked with them if

Excellent. Really good job I just read through the whole thread and it sounded like it could be a bit of a minefield.

Were your oil rings good? What brand chain and tensioner did you buy?

GOLF MK5 GTI knocking noise on idle
Last Poster: gmazjunior in Mk5 General Area on May 25, 2025, 08:45:23 am
Hello everyone,
Got a MK5 GTI. Firstly, my block 93 was at -7. Then I replaced the chain and chain tensioner with oil contorl rings and the VVT solenoid. A few months later, my block 93 was at -6. Then I replaced only my VVT phaser and everything was good except I had a knocking noise on idle when the car is hot but not every time and the noise usually would usually go away wi

Steering Control Module

Hey Interlagos Plaid Family,

o7'#039 GTI, I have a case to solve with the STEERING COLUMN. The turn signal stock, wiper stock, horn, and STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS do not work. It started with the turn signal stock not working intermittently, then everything listed above stopped working. About 6+ months prior, I replaced the ignition lock due to the key sticking (all above item

Last Poster: GTXcess in Mk5 General Area on May 19, 2025, 01:40:13 pm
I’ve just picked up some Ed30 heated seats for my car which didn’t have them from factory. Reading the last reply is there any reason not to get seat looms and panel from a breaker rather than kufatec type?

Re: Timing chain, parts required?
Last Poster: Kodap_MK5 in Mk5 General Area on May 19, 2025, 01:15:38 pm
There is a way to check that the chain is in tolerance using VCDS/Obdeleven. Might be worth doing this first?

Ahhh okay, I didn't realise there was a way to check beforehand! I maybe need to invest in VCDS/OBD, can anyone buy those and assume they just use a license?

Do you have an oil cooler/heat exchanger, wonder if thats your cause of oil in coolant

I did wonder this as I stripped both engines I wasn't sure which cooler I put on it but that's definitely the cheapest option to try I'll swap it and then flush the system to see what happens.

Last Poster: coolhandluke in Mk5 General Area on May 16, 2025, 08:45:23 pm
You could also check if the foam inserts are still in place around the front wheel arches. But if no rust showing thru they probably been removed..
And be careful when pulling the plastic engine cover
off, do it when warn as they love to break.
