Good looking GTi, you could copy and paste your mk5 story for mine, as I took the plunge 12 months ago and have been on the same restoration/modifying route as you. As far as exhaust noise goes - I fitted a Malian 3” non res cat back and was impressed not only with the noise - just the right amount of burble without being obnoxious, but also the build quality. Bit of a late response but i hate seeing no conclusion to threats so here it is.
On my weeks of i started with maintenance. Did an oil change and noticed a bunch of metal in my oil. I got it checked out at a specialist and turns out inlet camsheft and the parts around it(rockers etc?) where worn and it needed a revision. Got a quote of 3200k euro for full head revision a

First start in the morning starts instantly, if I turn it off and turn it right back on starts instantly only when it’s sat a few minutes it hard stays. I replace LPFP and fuel filter because

The new one is from an australian automatic car with the mph and kmh clock face (1K6920 974A). After replacement, immo and mileage adaptation the car starts and drives. I have changed the clock fa

True, but then you have a mk7, which in my opinion is the best looking golf, which also comes with a nice tunable engine that will usually make more with a stage 1 map than you golf with a stage 3. You got a newer gen car, new interior design, overall different sharps and edges, more modern, less issues etc etc. I would pick the 7 if i had the option.

I fitted Golf R Mk7 (MQB platform) 340mm brakes to the front of my Edition30 - awesome difference in braking, you'#039ll love it! nbsp Better initial feel and you can just feel the braking power there ready to use if needed. nbsp I resprayed in GTI red and applied GTI decals to them too, looks superb.
I'#039ve also got almost shot rear brakes that I intend to swap out at some point
