If both of them are freezing up or having issues moving in general, I'#039d get the wiper assembly replaced. You can pick up and test a scrapyard piece. The replacement itself is very easy on the mk5. I'#039ve had an issue on my mk4 where it barely moved. It could only move if unscrewed one wiper completely. The mechanism itself gets rusted or the motor burns out. Had the same thing happ

I can tell you what tire ISNT quiet: Vredestian ultrac vortii+. My winter tires are quieter than this!
As far as soundproofing, you can probably go with anything. I use STP (Standartplast). I'#039ve done my door panels on my old one but haven'#039t gotten around to doing this car yet and probably wont till summer. I use 3 layers. STP silver for vibration absorption, STP aero 6

Crashed with a Volvo. 4 lane road, 2 on each side, we drive on the right. Left lane was a turn lane so everybody was stopped. I was looking in my right side mirror for the cars coming on the right lane to clear so I can pull out. There was an intersection on my right, slightly behind me, in a spot where I couldn'#039t see it neither with my eyes, nor with my mirror. I have a tendency

That looks like it vents to air. Might not be the best thing for a MAF sensor based TFSI. Having said that, I went through a few valves, tested on a 1.4TSI CAXA, a 2.0TFSI BGB and my own 2.0TFSI BWA: - Rev C - Stock, fissures after some time. Also the valve itself doesnt extend that far out so it barely just sits on the blow-off hole

Forged con rods with stock pistons?

2006 2.0TFSI BWA
Looking to fit forged connecting rods to my stock pistons, found some IE rods but they are saying they are for tapered wrist pins only. Bar-Tek on one of their blog posts say that EA113 stock pistons need trapezoid wrist pin rods. Besides IE and FCP Engineering, I haven'#039t seen anyone else sell "quotdrop-in"quot rods.

Apart from the obvious remap what other mods have people done I want to wire in an aux, I have a gen 2 haldex and have read this one is a 95/5 split but can transfer up to 90 to rear, not sure how true this is but it will not wheelspin, thinking of reviving an old project I was going to do with a gt170 but this time I can plant the power down if it’s all manageable. Are you loosing coolant? If so it could be the heater matrix leaking. Also water will always flow to the lowest point so it could be running from anywhere really, settling and then soaking through.

Oil on top of the pistons could be leaking valve stem oil seals.
When the engine is shut-off the oil in the head can leak down the valve stems and would sit on the pistons of the cylinders where the valves are open
That would produce some smoke on start up but burn off quickly. I doubt it was cause your intermittent miss fire though.
