In regards to the issue of my rear windows not working, I literally discovered yesterday that it also meant my rear locks didn't work!!!

after some panic and regret I managed to re-code both door modules and now my mirrors, windows and lock function as they should but it gave me a fright as i've already moved on my old modules and mirrors!

Recently I have developed an odd slight misfire on idle and low range revs lumpiness. I'm aware of various issues with this engine which I believe to be Down to overfueling and the injectors.

However I am trying to find out why and what is causing this issue? I have got VCDS and have had a bit of look around and I have zero fault codes what so ever...

I set up the VCDS to look for misfires and put onscreen a misfire counter on each cylinder and it was reading 0 constantly...

I have also gone a bit further In the sense of looking at;

injector timing: at idle 0.51ms and at 3000 rpm 0.77ms and again at about 4000rpm 2.04ms

Fuel rail pressure: at idle 50.00mbar and at 3000 rpm being 85.00mbar

Boost pressure (N75): at idle 5% and at 3000 rpm 5%.

Okay so a development has occurred tonight, I've changed my spark plugs to NGK BKR7EIX's as recommended by REVO, Also put some new coil packs in as its a pain on my engine so I thought whilst I was there... In doing all of this I spotted a broken pipe? or at least a seal for a pipe which I'm hoping explains my issues! If anyone could tell me what this mystery pipe does It would be a great help!!!

So this is what I noticed immediately that the plastic retaining clip appears to have broken off which I thought odd.

As suspected this pipe literally moves on and off with the slightest touch. God knows whats its been doing while I've been driving around!, this has been fixed with a little bit of oil and a stainless steel ziptie to hold the pipe in place and its holding in just fine now :)

Also the spark plugs I've replaced had seen better days but not the worst I've ever seen

new spark plugs in :)

So I took it for a drive earlier and the misfire has disappeared and its running really smooth now, smoothest its ran since I have owned the car, not sure whether it was the spark plugs or this pipe that was loose but its made such a difference! no more lumpiness.

Again thanks for your help guys!

Just purchased some MFSW buttons for a non dsg car - what a pain that is by the way...

I got them incredibly cheap so bare with me...

What I'm asking is are these the older style ones which I think they are, and with the right modules and what not will all of the buttons works ?

Those are the old style buttons. They should work with a steering wheel module compatible with buttons.

^ Good to know :) - I'll be holding off on the MFSW for a while as I wanted @Eddie-NL to fit them, cruise control and my highline clocks but I think ill try for later in the year!

In the mean time I've been a little busy

Got myself some wind deflectors from HEKO finally and I love them  :chicken:

Soon to come :D

Broke my crappy replica ED30 front lip this week, but I bought a genuine one off the forum so went about fitting it this evening!

Whilst I had the bumpers off I thought I'd try and fit the HID Kit ive had laying around for the past 5 months

a "21mm" hole they reckon... Just about fits with a 26mm hole but there we go!

Managed to get the ballasts mounted to the underside of the lights which is nice that they aren't visible but still replaceable now as there is a clip and retaining screw which is accessible :D

In all the excitement I forgot to grab a pic of the new bumper but I am genuinely over the moon with the HID kit :D

nice looking car that mate. Just read through the whole thing and you've made some really nice mods there. I deffo want to do the mkvii gear stick thing. It doesn't cost much, but with a little effort gains great results.

Although I've got a few mods to finish progress has been slow the past couple of months due to work/ holidays and having to find a new mechanic. I'm now fully back into the swing of this kicking it off today at 3pm getting my Stage 1 remap with REVO. Excited is an understatement!

Then over the next few months I've got to finish
  • Retrofitting my MFSW
  • Fitting Lowering Springs
  • Fitting New Shocks/Dampers
  • Fitting My Highline Clocks which are gathering dust
  • Cruise Control Stalk

I literally just got home! It's so much sharper now - although it has definitely confirmed I need to get my resonator put back on my exhaust!!!

:)). A REVO remap for the twincharge engine is a huge leap in performance (especially for the 140bhp car).
Very happy for you!  :congrats: :congrats:

Absolutely the jump up to 200 has made a huge difference, I'm absolutely loving it!
So thanks for the recommendation of the revo!

Place I had it done was really good also, will be using them again!

140bhp to 200bhp? You'll definitely feel that! Nice motor this.
