Another what's it worth thread
« on: August 13, 2015, 04:51:16 pm »
Hi all!

Just after abit of advice of value. I'm considering selling my mk5 as I'd like a DSG one.

2005 (05) mk5 gti
3dr in black with cloth interior
95,000 ish miles
Fully stamped service book (full can no longer get anymore stamps in it)
Stacks of invoices

HPI clear

Just had cambelt, water pump, aux belt, timing chain, full service with quality oil new pollen filter, genuine spark plugs etc etc
Latest revision DV and PCV, new cam follower.
Has red r8 style coil packs, 3 inch decat downpipe, auto tech intake kit, 18" monza wheels with nearly new Michelin PS3 tyres all round, factory style tinted windows and mk6 style interior switches.

Has a few things activated via vagcom such as U.S. Spec Amber lights, alarm chirp etc
It also has the updated fuel pump pipes.

Exterior condition is pretty much mint bar the usual marks you'd expect for a 10 year old car that's been used but looked after
Interior is the same.

I've also just swapped the engine with a lower mileage lump but because I don't have proof of purchase for it then I'm not sure I should put it in the add.

I would have thought around £5250 maybe a bit more with all the work done to it. Wouldn't take less than £5k.

Really? I was thinking advertise at say £4795 with a view of taking no less than £4500.
There quiet a hard car to price. The prices of them are all over on eBay.

Yeah they are a bit random sometimes. Mileage age and low spec are against it but with new tyres, condition and all the work done to it I'd have thought £5k all day.
