ED 30 KEEP/SELL?
« on: August 16, 2015, 04:35:05 pm »
Reason for post is a little bit lame!

I am a VW nut and currently have some stunning vehicles in my possession!

I have a 3door white ED 30 manual with some nice options that has had one owner prior to me and is in fantastic condition and has VW history with it to date.

I just cant decide whether to sell it or keep it? It owes me no money, but I have only done 1500 miles in the 2 years that I have had it and a lump of those were collecting it.

I drive an Anni 25th diesel as my daily which is a superb car but the ED is something different. Its a real hard decision. I dont know whether to keep her and mothball her or let someone else get the joy out of her?

Its such a beautiful looking car and the interior is in my opinion beautiful!

Is that enough to keep it or do I just possibly go and buy another one day when I have changed my current car and house situation.

I use to be indecisive, but now I just don't know??

Personally I'd keep it if you can afford to, nothing wrong with keeping a car immaculate with low mileage. :happy2:

Personally I wold never have a Mk5 Golf GTI/Ed30 if it was only a weekend car or to look at. I would get a MK1 Golf GTI if you are a VW nut.

White manual ED30's are rare as f*ck. If you don't need the money I would keep it for a while as its going to appreciate a lot in the next few years.

I think that if you keep it it will retain its value for several years , i doubt it will appreciate until it is 20yrs plus old , which is sometime to keep it and service and maintain it . The issue is that its nice , but its a car which don't fare well sitting doing nothing . Sell it to someone who will use it would be my advice.

I'm going with this.

I once bought a beautiful S4 Elan, perfect condition, bought from a specialist dealer out of a collection. Looked like new. Turned out to be a PITA as soon as it was used . Dealer refunded me after he paid a £1500 bill to fix things.

He then sold it to Gordon Murray who has much deeper pockets than me!  :rolleye:

Gone but not forgotten :-)

I would t have though it would take that pong for these to appreciate, they're probably at bottom about now and will start to creep up in the next year or two then climb fairly steadily from there no? I don't mean big money but a bit. Only thing I would change my car for is a candy white manual ED30 with the right spec/ mileage.
