Bit of shameless advertising here, but I'm after a stock engine cover and air feed, willing to pay cash or swap for my RamAir kit like-for-like. I have a K03 system if that helps. Anyone who has a stock engine cover and wants a few quid for it, give me a shout and we'll strike a deal.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

So fitted mine and some pics below and also took it for a spin and louder than I thought but nice sound when accelerating.

On the downside I did manage to break the piece of plastic pipe that comes off the Turbo Inlet so good thing I fitted the new one ok as no going back

The pipe with the MAF on wiggles a bit even after fixing and tightening the claps so hope that is normal

Few pics

Thinking about getting one of these. Are you guys running them with standard ECU settings or have you had a remap? I have a standard GTi (197bhp) with KO3 turbo - does this mean I get the 70mm Ramair kit or can I run the 90mm version? Also, does the cone filter just rest on the inside of the heat shield or is it bolted to something to stop it moving about?

Sorry for all the questions! Thanks in advance.

JP.

I cannot be 100% sure but from doing a couple of VCDS runs my car looks like it has had a Stage 1 map before I bought it. I have the 70mm version on my ED30 so not sure on that. My filter doesn't rest on anything and I did this by adjusting the 90 degree silicone hose before clamping on, it does move around but I made sure there is clearance all around so it does sit on anything but is very tight in there

Thanks for the information guys - good pic dronners, looks nice and clean under your bonnet. I'm gonna definately think about this as long I don't lose any horseys by fitting it.

I have the 90mm oversize kit fitted to mine the heatshield is a bit tricky over the manifold but other than that it's straight forward. It's sounds good and also feels abit more responsive on my ed30

I also have one of these great value kits - been on a couple of months now and works a treat
Wrapped mine in magmashield heat reflective tape for a bit of engine bling!

I'd love to do a swap, but you're probably a little far from me unfortunately.

As you can see from my pic I need to clean my engine bay badly. what did you use to clean yours especially around the battery and fuse kit as if I use water spray am worried about getting it into these
