my 2005 manual 3 door silver gti
« on: May 28, 2019, 09:33:30 pm »
Hello,

I felt like sharing the modifications I've made to my 2005 manual 3 door silver gti.

The car is nearly on 144k miles and at 14 years most components have started to wear out, which was my justification for starting the modification journey.

I've started by replacing the DV valve, cam follower and PCV before fitting the 90mm oversized RAMAIR induction kit with the help of a friend. Next was a REVO stage 1 remap by Quattro Tech and the camshaft position sensor.

Last week Indigo GT replaced the shocks and springs for the VWR kit, along with the top mounts for the audi S1/S3 versions and the console bushes replaced with the SuperPro anti lift kit. Finally the above was finished off with a hunter 4 wheel alignment to bring everything back into line.

Update; the thermostat and abs module were replaced which meant the Revo map had to be relogged

Update on my gti. I’ve had the engine carbon cleaned and replaced the abs module. Further mods plan consist of fitting an R32 rear bumper and mk6 switches for the lights, electric windows, electric mirrors and fuel cap release. Still trying to decide what to do about the exhaust. A few pics following a clean before heading to the Brecon vow festival.

Currently looking for a garage to do the 150k miles service
