Kr15h, I'm not really interested in c4 etc, I hear mixed results from looking about and for that money I can by a replacement grille on eBay, although they might be rubbish? Surely that stuff doesn't look as good as a respray and it will fade right? Anyone else used spray paint and can advise?

Wouldn't mind seeing the results of this. Mine are faded to buggery too

So much for keeping it standard!

thanks Jamie, is it a straight OEM replica swap? I'd certainly be interested in in an install and review, do you have a link to the one you found on  ebay?

Personally tink it will look terrible painted
I recently used the Autoglym trim Gel and its come up like new for me, don't mind if it needs applying once amonth if it keeps it looking this good!

Took less than 10 minutes to apply with a cloth and looks spot on

Matt, why do you say that it will look bad? have you got any experience in spray painting faded trim or is it just a hunch?

I have a friend with a Reflex Silver Mk5 Golf, just like my GT Sport, with all the grills painted gloss black. I like it. Looks more premium. :happy2:

After some bumper damage, my bodyshop misunderstood when I asked them to also paint the grill surround on my Audi A4 black (rather than silver) and ended up painting the bare plastic slats of the grill in gloss black instead. I thought it actually looked good...apart from the surround that was left silver!

Haven't got any closeups...
