Jamie's Laser Blue Gti
« on: August 19, 2015, 12:39:24 pm »
Hi Guys,

Thought id throw some pics up today while im *cough* working...

I've wanted a mk5 for years but never had a job that let me, now i'm in office button bashing and don't need a van full of cable and tools the day finally came!!

So here she is, Laser blue Gti... untouched bar the wheels until last night when i installed my twintake (Not sure its for me)

I fell in love with it when i saw it but let me know what you think  :happy2:

The guy i bought it off was a VW salesman and this was his wife and kids run around! its pretty immaculate and had ££££'s spent keeping it that way
The other car parked on his drive was a Golf R with 87 Miles on the clock! Obviously his works car but still... i made him take me out in it after the my money had gone through, scared the crap out of me!

What's your view on the twintake? Is it too noisy?

Its a really good, well built bit of kit but the suction noise is really loud, it actually sounds like the air is being blown straight into your air vents when the windows are up.
I like the dump/flutter but the constant rushing of air is quite annoying. i think the noise is being caused buy the filter enclosure, swishing air around while its under a small load. when your fully boosting its silent then you can hear a loud dump when letting off.

I think im going to buy two foam filters to replace the cans on the end and see if that gets rid of the noise.... Anyone tried that??

Would be pointless.
Any intake is loud. Some more so than others. If you don't want the noise put a stock intake back on but accept there may be reduced performance.

Think he's just asking as they're non-standard!

What do they look like a night? Pictures would be cool :)
