Deadlocked door!

Hi everyone I'm new to the forum.
My front passenger door lock has stopped working and it's deadlocked shut, does anyone know a way of getting it open so I can get the lock changed? I've spent over an hour trying the unlock button and pulling the handles but it seems to have completely packed up. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for trying to help but that doesn't have an answer. It's not changing the lock that's the problem it's getting the door open. It's locked shut and will not open (I need a way of getting it open)

Apparantly this is a common issue on lots of vag cars

My drivers side did this also..managed to get it open after I left the battery of for a bit

In the how to he does describe what to do as his door was deadlocked. Apparently its a combination of hitting around the module area and unlocking at the same time. Its in the first paragraph if i remember correctly.

Apparantly this is a common issue on lots of vag cars
Surely someone must know 

I know how to open it but how do I know the poster isn't looking to know this for ill gotten gains???

I know he explains what he done but I've tried all of that on a number of occasions over the last 2 weeks and still no result.

I had the same on ours. Persevere, mine opened eventually.

If not, I was going to try this if you have a 5dr

Do you want to check im not trying to find out for some Ill gotten gains before helping me?
On a serious note, thank you. Theres a chance I'll be able to get it open now as mines a 5 door.

I don't really understand the point of you posting and saying you know how to do it and then not saying how. What was the actual point of you posting anything in the first place? I thought this was a place people come to look for help and answers on a subject we all have a common interest in.

Pop into your local body shop, they'll show you on your vehicle as would I if you were in your vehicle!
