^^^ I am going to be doing another couple of installs soon so will improve the photo's and will get some better ones of the cutting of the boot triangle.

There are plenty of other cameras that can be used on the after market head units or with the RNS-510 by purchasing an expensive adapter from Kufatec, have a look at Hurdy's build thread for his camera on the Kenwood Double Din Headunit  :happy2:

Is there not another OEM VW camera from a Passat CC or something that isnt situated in the badge though?

Maybe something like the toureg has one but all the others (Passat CC included) use the badge based cameras  :happy2:

Any photos of the boot after the mount triangle was cut away?

Its from an Aussie car so may be upside down

The Kufatec IMA adaptor is rubbish, it doesn't always know that the car is in reverse, and when it does it spends the rest of the time saying that the camera isn't available at this time. If found it was working ok when I stopped for petrol, after filling up it would almost always say it wasn't available

I will update the thread properly in the next few days, but here is the revised setup for the drain tube to prevent the water building up in the boot or tailgate. Thanks to StokeBalloon for the heads up on this  :happy2:

Remove the plastic bung (which will be painted over) directly below on the badge in the tailgate and feed the drain tube up into the tailgate. (very tight fit)

Using a 6mm tube connector

I join the Drain tube to some 5mm clear tubing

And attach to the outlet on the bottom of the badge

I also tied off the tubes with some cables ties too.

Any water will now run directly from the badge onto the top of the bumper  :happy2:

SteveP, where did you get the extra parts from?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Cool. Methinks you should have my name and address already somewhere.

This is what i used at the Fuse box end.

http://www.my-gti.com/601/addition-of-extra-circuits-to-the-volkswagen-golf-jetta-passat-eos-scirocco-rabbit-fuse-box

That dosn't look to bad, only thing is the guide shows him installing two new power feeds anyone know which one is permanent or switched?

Btw SB met B3N on here today (who bought your MIlltek) he reckoned the RVC is the business, can't wait now!

Rob, shaun's kit will include the piggy back fuse holder so it's plug and play if you don't want to remove the fuse box.

Otherwise if you want one of the repair wires listed in the my-GTI.com guide just drop me a PM as I have a few spares so will post you one out rather than paying a stealer  :happy2:
