Revo compared to APR
« on: August 25, 2015, 09:15:59 am »
Hi,

Has anyone made the jump from APR to Revo or Revo to APR ?, what where the reasons for the change ?

I am considering both companies for stage 2+, it sounds like Revo is more aggressive in it's delivery ?, that sounds quite appealing. What about APR ?

Also what have people done when for example selling the car and putting it back to stock ?, I read that not all Revo dealers keep the original ECU image so it can be hassle to get a completely stock flash ?. Any experience of this ?

Thanks

I would allow my choice to be influenced by who was nearest for ongoing support and who you personally prefer.
All of the big players do their work well in all fairness.
You'll always hear Revo this, APR that, RTech the other.

JKM keep your cars file so again, find a specialist you trust.

Revo is a more agressive map than apr which i why i went with them. But revo dealers are closer to me than apr. Apr do have the rfd software but revo are working on one now so apr will loose the advantage with that. Like @flashp said, go with what closet to you that can offer you support as there all good maps and give good results.

How can you say Revo is more aggressive without having had both? Revo is adjustable to make it as aggressive or as smooth as you like within the confines of the map.

Revo have also promised an RFD tweak for well over  6 months. It'll never happen as their only interest is developing software for new cars to keep the big ££££ coming in

Does the boost adjustment you can make to the map adjust the boost delivery, I.e more boost lower down for more aggressive delivery. Or does it just adjust the maximum boost level ?, or combination of the two ?

Initial spool and high rpm are pretty much unchanged. Setting 1 is similar to standard boost/delivery, while setting 9 is pretty much 100% N75 and maximum boost, so big peak torque that wants to spin the wheels up.
