a couple of new mods *now fitted and dyno results*
« on: December 19, 2008, 11:17:16 pm »
well santa came early for me too, been thinking about these for a long time and was torn between this or a fuel pump and intake but after a few hairy moments on wet and icy roads i thought i would best get my priorities straight so purchased these recently will hopefully get fitted next week and then  some of the r32/leon brake set up if i can get a set of the chap advertising on here.

first of the usual whiteline anti lft kit, thanks for all reviews, secondly a nice new set of bilstein pss10, they look rather nice and will of course hopefully give a little review after fitted, hope you like..

Balance motorsport supplied both the bilstein's and whiteline kit, rang them up very helpful and they emailed me a special price if I ordered that day, couldn't refuse  :happy2:

will probably get them fitted by balance too, seem to know what he was talking about and said will do corner weighting at same time, anyone know anything about this read a few bits and sounds promising.

they adjust the suspension so each corner has the weight it should have sitting on it, not always equal on all corners, some cars are better set-up with a front bias etc. But it is the best way to set-up coilovers rather than just matching ride-heights

I got my suspension and walk kit from Balance, he bettered the best price i had found on the KW's without any bartering. I would recommend him no question.  :happy2:

Not that Balance wouldn't make generous offers anyway, but methinks that most 'retailers' will make generous offers in order to achieve sales in the current economic climate. That's good for us guys!

Those Bilsteins are superb - I have a set on my Ed30 along with WALK... excellent mods.  Makes the standard car seem like a Mk4 GTI  :driver:

cant wait to get the bad boys on the car  :driver:

Ilyun what settings are you using for the dampeners - i'v been told around to be around 4/5 which is just about bearable  for every day driving.

im not too fussed about going super low, seen this set up on a s3 looks just what im looking for .

looking to keep the performance as good as possible without been to harsh.

That S3 is lowered just right imo. Best to be practical.

Illyun has mentioned that they are very firm and he hasn't figured out how to adjust the dampening yet. this tells me that it cant be that firm or adjustment would have been done by now, i think he hs done over a 1000 miles on them already.

the main reason i went for bilstein's was how easy it is to adjust them, you just turn the wheels to full lock crawl under the car and twist the blue dial as seen on the pics, 1 been softest setting and 10 been firmest setting, very simple no car-jacks and no removing tyres.
