Hello all,
I thought I would show you all my pride and joy and how it has come on recently. I'm 17 and this is my first car. I love it to pieces. I plan to keep it for a few more years yet and get something with a little more oomph when insurance is not so much of an issue!
Well starting from the start:
Before I even had the car I bought a set of wheels. They were mercedes alphards. They were lovely but I sold them on and made £200 in the process. Before I wished I would have kept them but now I have my other set I am glad i didn't!
22/03/2009I went looking for my first car. I went to a VW garage and the first car I saw I ended up buying! It was a Mk5 Golf 1.6 FSI SE Laser Blue.
29/03/2009 I picked the car up. Well I say I but I hadn't passed my test at this time so I was the passenger!
She then spent a few months tucked away in the garage waiting for me to pass my test. A few little touches happened.
30/03/2009Order my private 5-digit number plate.
04/04/2009Removed the badges of the car. Looks cleaner. Here are a few pics:

11/04/2009Next step to cleaning up the rear was removing the wiper. Here is a few pics:

I thought the rubber grommet stuck out a bit so it was replaced with the glass version from venom motorsport. Although a little pricey, it looks 1000x better;
09/06/2009The first big change happened to my car when I bought a full GTI leather interior with door cards. It was fitted the following weekend. Not to bad of a job.

22/06/2009Added an leather armrest to the interior.
12/09/2009Bought and fitted a blaupunkt tha-555 amp and Jl-audio sub mounted in a stealth box. I made quite a difference when you turn it up! Here are a few pics:
The amp is now under the carpet in the spare wheel. I cut a hole to house it securely, making sure there was enough airflow. I dont have a problem with overheating and it is a lot better out the way where it is not going to get damaged.
19/09/2009This was a fairly big step. All of this to be fitted:
Mk6 Multi function steering wheel.
R32 Highline clocks.
RNS-510 with voice recognition.
Canbus 'S' version (to cope with all the new stuff and avoid battery drain!)

I will have to get pics of the R32 clocks. I love the white and blue lights! Everyone always asks do they match the needle colour to the car colour at VW!
03/10/2009R32 rear lights fitted. A few pics:

10/11/2009R32 xenons and LED sidelights fitted. A few pics:
11/12/2009Full GTI black upper fitted to interior. Including mirror, roof lining, a,b and c posts, all lights on roof etc and rear window surround. This removed the old looking cream bits!
Made it look more modern imo!
18/12/2009Received Audi S-line split rims in 18" 7.5 et 54 fitment. Cleaned them up and applied 3 coats of rim wax to the entire wheels to keep them protected in the winter. Also changed the centre caps to VW ones. A few pics:
19/12/2009Had all the wheels off today and cleaned all under the arches and brakes etc. Also Tried one of the wheels on to check the hub diameter was correct. It is as there was no movement!

The brakes now look tiny behind the wheels!!
Any idea how I can remove that line of gunk? My guess is I wont and it would need spraying?
Also how to go about spraying the calipers?
I think we are pretty much up to date now. I may have missed a few things but I will update it. I will be getting some proper pictures soon and I will keep this thread regularly up dated.
