Cambelt offer at VW
« on: August 26, 2015, 10:20:21 pm »
Hi all - not sure what category this really comes under but just in case anyone needs to know. Contacted my VW in Leicester today and asked if any offers going on cam belt and water pump. Woman on the other line said £350 all in (or £299 just for the belt and tensioner and not the water pump) but the offers only running until the end of the month (so she said). Considering their website said special price was £399 I thought it's not a bad price.

Secondly what's your guys thoughts on this? I'm under the assumption that's a pretty good price for VW. My cars got full VW service history so I thought it was a bit of a no brainier to have my belt done and get the stamp from VW at the same time

I had the same offer last month. Worked out same price as an independent.  I got it done at VW.  Great service, got a free bottle of coolant too.  But they did leave a bolt undone on the washer bottle and over filled the coolant!

I checked with my local vw last week, 349 or 449 with the water pump? Is this on vw's website?

@driver rider best bet would be to give your local VW a call if you don't get a response. It seems to be a offer not advertised on their website. Mine is a parkway VW so potentially dealer specific?

I'm fairly sure VW dealers would still honour the offer price if you asked.
