Looks great.  Quick question - does this have high pass and low pass filters you can set?

I mean does the sat nav instructions appear on the hi line display and can you control the radio etc from the MFSW buttons?

Yeah they do appear on the screen, I don't have mfsw in my mk5 but the unit does come with leads that can adapt for the functions

Looks really good, do you have a link to the one you bought?

It's got an equaliser with many settings and sliders.

RNS510 here also, I spent weeks trying to find a suitable headunit, after trying some of the cheaper ones I didn't think I could beat VW quality, albeit the posh Kenwood one they are selling at the stealers is very good!

Went into halfords today to have a look at the Pioneer SPH-DA120 airplay head unit. Really disappointing unit to be honest. The screen is low resolution and terrible contrast and blacks (important if driving a lot at night). It seems to be really struggling with the animations and looks to be about 15 fps. The screen is quite far behind the glass so it looks very dated in that respect also.

What one is this ?
Any links for the unit and seller ?
Was it plug and play and does it link up with the Hi Line display?

My top of the range Alpine 8" Nav fitted in my MK6 'R'!

This looks amazing sanj how much did it set you back ? Does it work with all your mfsw buttons ?

Yes everything work's, steering wheel control's and also parking sensors too both audio and visual, did have to buy the Alpine module separate to get it all working but it was well worth the money, the main head unit was £900!

@sanj Now that's an upgrade to the RNS-510!

Too pricey for me at the moment, though... :sad1:

After speaking to the guys at Car Audio Security the other week, I mentioned my disliking of the Kenwood DNX520VBT unit and they suggested trying the newer version of it, the DNX525DAB:

http://www.kenwood-electronics.co.uk/car/oem/vw/DNX525DAB/

Looks like a massive improvement over the previous units so may scan eBay for a good priced unit and see how I get on with it. Importantly, it's fully OEM supported so all the functions in my mk6 Golf that use the stereo screen should still work just like stock.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Hi guys

How does the Zenec NC2010 head unit fair against the eBay one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-MK5-MK6-7-Car-Radio-Stereo-SatNav-Bluetooth-iPod-USB-OBD-Diagnosis-GPS-/171181089753?hash=item27db3023d9

Is the zenec worth the premium? also any reports of the eBay ones being unreliable?

Does it hook into the climate and park distance on a mk5 ?

Any other recommendations sub 300?

Cheers
