Kenwood DNX525DAB loom question...
« on: August 30, 2015, 07:00:00 pm »
Hi I've purchased a new Kenwood DNX525DAB. I've got the VW Kenwood CTSVW002k.2UART loom with it...

Before I install it does anyone know what the connector highlighted with the green arrow is for?  Is it for steering wheel controls? My car doesn't have them anyway?

Also will I need a FAKRA adaptor? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Fakra-Radio-Antenna-Aerial-Adapter-RNS-RCD-510-310-315-Seat-Skoda-Columbus-/360808733867?hash=item5401e05cab

Thanks very much in advance!  :happy2:

I can see a red arrow - the thing the red arrow is pointing at is the two fakra connectors, so you won't need a twin fakra adapter you have linked to.

Thanks, the only reason I ask is because on my RCD300 they're 2 separate connectors and won't fit into the connector on the Kenwood loom?

That connector is for steering wheel controls and sometimes it can be for cd changer considering cd changers are well out of date its more then likely for steering wheel controls.

Thanks. I'll disconnect it from the little black box then!

More than enough cables flapping about at the back!

Thanks for your info! :notworthy:

I've got one included with the headunit. Kenwood have improved it before you had to pull off different bits of it then line up the amplifier. It's now all one piece!  :happy2:

Also purchased this Bluetooth microphone from the USA... http://enfigcarstereo.com/ENFIG_MIC_VW1.html. Kenwood missed a trick there, the Enfig one fits directly into the factory fit microphone location!  :happy2:
