Radio upgrade
« on: August 31, 2015, 11:56:04 am »
Morning guys. I'm looking to upgrade my radio to what I believe is a rns310 DAB. I've searched the forum regarding battery drain issues and come to the conclusion I would need to replace my can gateway for a new one. Can anybody advise me where the best place to buy one is and how much they. I've had a quick look through the for sale section and on eBay but don't know what I'm looking for part numbers wise.

Cheers

I bought mine from @Eddie-NL on here. Ping him a PM and he'll sort you out if he has them in stock. Very helpful and knowledgeable chap  :happy2: Actually, you'll find quite a lot of helpful characters on here  :drinking:

Right then I've bought a RNS315 today as my mate was putting his car back to standard. Ideally wanted a 510 but it was a good price and it's a DAB unit. I've read that it's got built in Bluetooth does anybody know if there is a loom I can buy to fit the mic as my car didn't leave the factory with phone prep. I was going to buy a Bluetooth module and do it that way but after reading up online that isn't necessary with a 315. Any help is appreciated especially if somebody has done this before. Thanks

I imagine you need to buy a new mic and a new mic loom. I think you can get both from carsystems.pl. Then you just need to fit the mic and pass the loom to connect it to your RNS-315. Not sure if it needs any additional VCDS coding.

Easy job for this forum retrofitters, I'm sure. :happy2:

Thanks for that pashka I'm just waiting on a spare hour or so to swap the units over and then I can power up this RNS315 and actually make sure it's got Bluetooth before I go any further. I got told it has but I suppose until I power it up in my car I don't know for sure

Just check for the stick with Bt and numbers, like on phones, 33:2234:etc, if it has it, it will be with bt for sure.
