Ed30 problem
« on: September 02, 2015, 09:50:30 am »
Mornin all!
So at the weekend my oil pressure warning flashed on then disappeared only for it to come on again with 20 minutes or so. I pulled in and opened my bonnet. Found oil in bay - over the cambelt cover and had obviously dripped down the exhaust and had sprayed over my boot.
I turned the car over and saw the revs increase without touching the throttle. I then shut it off and had it recovered.
I thought maybe PCV (the revs rising) or maybe blocked oil pick up. Neither really explain the leak though.
It's a 57 plate manual Edition 30. 79k miles.
Full service history.
Any ideas?

It could be your pcv as I'm sure one of the symptoms of a failed pcv is pushing oil out of the filler cap.

As above sounds like pcv I would start there
