What is this?
« on: September 03, 2015, 08:42:37 pm »
My car has these marks on the pillar between the rear window and the boot, they're only visible in strong sunlight but look terrible. I'm assuming it's the result of some polishing/waxing but hoping somebody on here could give a better answer of what's caused it and how to fix it.

Looks like swirl marks but can't really tell. I'm pretty sure a DA will sort that.

They are caused by using foreign hand car washers and poor washing techniques.

The car will need a good flat and polish to remove them.

Did you have to say "Foreign hand car washers"? Couldn't you have said "Hand car washers"?

What difference does it make. I said foreign because they all are foreign?

Thanks guys, going to give it a clean at the weekend so will have a go at getting rid of them.

I've got some orange lake country pads and some menzerna fg400, hopefully this should do the job?

That's a good pad and polish combo to easily knock back the swirls. l would recommend following that up with FF4000 and a finishing pad if you have them, to refine and remove any marring that maybe left after the cutting stage.
