Anti Roll Bars

Hey guys

Just wondering if the MK5 R32 anti roll bars are an upgrade on the GTi?

Had a quick search but keep finding info on Eibach, H&R etc lol.

No, they aren't. I can't remember which, but one differs a lot due to the 4motion system. I would guess that both differ so sadly you'll have to use other branded ones. Get some H&R ones, many people on here have run them (including myself) and they are highly rated.

I had the same query as the r32 bars come up quite cheap.
Couldnt find any definite proof so tried it myself.
The R32 Bars are thicker and solid, so in theory an upgrade, but are a slightly different shape as they need to clear the drive gear.
I have fitted front and rear to my GT TDI and they do physically fit, although it's quite tight.
The rear fouls the pipe coming from the back box too.
Saying that, they've been on for 12K now without any major problems.
I'll try dig out some pics to show the difference.
It's best to go with some of a 2wd model.

If you're patient and scour eBay often enough you can find some updated ones for bargain prices. I saved nearly £100 on my h&r set, brand new and unused but had a little flake of the powdercoated missing from transit. Bargain!

Be careful on eBay, it gets expensive...

To be honest, any ARB upgrades from the likes of Eibach or ST Suspensions will be a massive improvement over the OE ones, but if you can save up then get the thickest H&R bars. The ST Suspension ones are the cheapest though and will do a cracking job if combined with some lowering springs as well.
