Hi !

I thought I would join this forum as I seem to be constantly on it for advice ! So I was wondering if anyone could help me, The  Exhaust System Fault light has come on, its just permanently on it does not flash ,If I turn the engine off and on again it still remains and there doesn't seem to be any loss of power/ physical signs of anything (although ive probably just jinxed it now!)
I don't have time to take it to the garage until Saturday, I know its an amber light so it just means that action needs to be taken but I was just wondering if any of you lovely's had experienced this before and what it could likely be.

Thank you so much, all help appreciated !

Hi welcome to the forum.  I've had this come up a few times so got a friend to check vcds which pointed to DV checked it and the DV clip is loose and needs replacing this was reducing turbo boost and causing the fault lamp to show up. Maybe start there fella. Hope u sort it

Hi,

Thanks for your reply!  I am going to get it looked at tomorrow hopefully. I was just worried mainly about driving on it because I don't have the time to get it to a garage until tomorrow (Saturday) and do a bit of driving with work.... Is it ok to drive ? there's nothing physical that I can see...

Thanks so much

Hi it will be fine until then it just puts the car into kind of a limp mode so it won't boost as high ! If it is the DV and u replace opt for the Rev G as it holds the boost better should be around £45 for the part.  It is a DIY job only 3 hex nuts take about 46 mins pal.
Fault code should be 000051
