RNS 510 R slow?
« on: September 08, 2015, 05:28:52 pm »
Is my RNS 510 version R (one with the SSD) abnormally slow to boot when I enter the vehicle in the morning or are they all like this?

It's especially noticeable when you try to change to a different function, say moving to Radio when you last left it on Media.

Annoying something can be this slow!

I have Fiscon Basic Plus Bluetooth connected as well, if that could be making a difference?
From time-to-time, when I connect VCDS, I have seen a "module not coded correctly" error. Clearing it doesn't resolve this.

See my few videos demonstrating this:

Tried it with my phone's Bluetooth disconnected, but same result really:

@StuF - I'm looking at you, as you have the exact same setup as me!

I have it running firmware 6276 (with secret menu enabled) and V12 (2015) maps.

I have one of these units (may not be an R, but it is an SSD) and its quite slow to boot when entering the car after it's been sitting for a while

Fair enough! I mean, I'll lump it, but if there was someone who had a solution - I'd take it. Fearing there's not judging by @dazza 's video...

Mine is pretty similar to be honest mate - usually takes around 30 secs from starting the engine to being fully awake
By the time I have selected the correct screen on the MFD and pulled out of the drive it is good to go
Not timed it specifically but didnt find it excessive - same sort of time it takes for my iphone to turn on and get a signal

They're all very similar while booting and I've had a version A and a version B. Now I have a P and a R. The R which has SSD, while the others have HDD, just marginally process commands a bit faster. All boot slowly. :indifferent:

I guess thankfully not? Cheers for the opinions folks :)
