Alloy wheel repair .... Any advise ?
« on: September 19, 2015, 03:22:24 pm »
Hi guys,
My new set of Pirelli alloys did not last long over here in Crete, hit a pot hole in a location I had not already logged in the memory ! Instant flat tyre but no sign of damage till closer inspection revealed ....
Has a crack about 8" long running around the rim on the inside behind the spokes, have a contact here to get it repaired if they still exist, but this is new territory to me so any pointers would be helpful please ?
Obviously the option of picking up an odd Pirelli wheel, would be like hunting rocking horse do do, and a new set of BBS are less than VW want for a new one, so a bit knackered, I did give it thought before I bought them but only for about 2 seconds !
By fluke I could actually get it to the UK in early November but that would be a last resort.
Thanks in advance.    Steve

Like any other metal - alloys can be welded up and repaired
Know of wheels that have been cracked and repaired a couple of times
