What Intercooler?
« on: September 29, 2015, 04:21:54 pm »
I decatted my Edition 30 almost 2 months ago now with the intentions of ordering a Peron Intercooler (Cause of the good rep that they are getting on the forum). I've been on the waiting list with AKS Tuning for about 3 weeks now, called yesterday and they still have no idea when they'll be in.

I'm now getting a bit fed up of waiting, and the car running terribly due to the lack of map.

So the question is should I wait? Or just settle for an Airtec, THS, Forge Twintercooler?

You can consider Wagner as well, if the price is good as well. AFAIK an Airtec stage 2 will do good numbers too.

Yeah, I did. The feedback I saw from them is very good, but since then I've seen that a generic Chinese IC from ebay would give basically the same results. Not sure if the extra money for a DsD branded one was well spent. They can do +400 HP with good temps and I'm not aiming that high for a daily drive.

I'll post the results once I remap my Ed. 30. :happy2:

The Airtec coolers have rave reviews by the Ford boys, and their stage 2 cooler also uses a 55mm core as well. They're about £600 but readily available if you don't want to wait for a Peron one to come back into stock. I would of gone for a Peron one as well but I've since sourced an APR one.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Mainly availability and cost. also the fact that I am ko3, it would do more than I require. I am yet to have it rerun on dyno, but I know for a fact that the benefits are there, especially if it's been driven hard over back roads

Thanks for the input everyone.

Thinking the airtec stage 2 one sounds pretty decent, and I can get it by the weekend which is a massive plus.
