Yellow Pirelli - how rare!!??
« on: December 23, 2009, 01:12:59 pm »
A Pirelli GTi in yellow mica at Aberdeen VW  :surprised:

http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/retailers/00864/used-cars

Didn't know they did yellow ones. Will this be an import?

Pitty there's no pictures yet, and it's a 5dr low spec one by the looks of it.
VW Golf Edition 30, Candy White, 3dr Manual. Plus a stunning Aston Martin V12 Vantage!

The show/press cars were yellow - Perhaps this is one of them.

Only 250.1bhp - but with that noise, who cares?

Not officially produced in that colour for the UK so must be a parallel import.

You sure Nath. I remember enquiring about a Pirelli before I got the Ed30 and the dealer mentioned it was one of the colours available. It basically replaces the Candy white for some bizarre reason...  :stupid:

I'd guess you can have anything you want, so long as you're prepared to pay - so it might be a UK car?

But most likely a grey import.

I think yellow needs some black accents, mirrors, valances etc to take the custard blobbiness away from it.
Sideways yo!

Pretty sure but I'll wait for Wigit or one of the other Pirelli officionado's to wade in! I did have the VW press release somewhere but can't find it!

ectract from UK press release, import or special order maybe  :happy2:

Quote
As with the original GTI Pirelli the new car features a set of unique alloy wheels. The modest 13-inch wheels fitted to the 1983 car have evolved into a set of five-spoke 18-inch versions fitted, appropriately, with a set of 225/40 R18 Pirelli P-Zero tyres. Body-coloured elements including the front splitter, side skirts and rear bumper are complimented by a set of smoked rear light lenses and tinted rear windows. A unique Pirelli badge mounted on the bootlid further distinguishes the new car which will be available in a choice of three colours – reflex silver, diamond black and blue graphite.

thats the colour it was designed to be , hence the seat trim  , pirelli did run a competition to win one in yellow a while before they were released in the uk so it could be that one ??  imo the pirelli was only released here because of the ed30 cock up (1500/2300)
if i was looking for a car (and it was a 3 door )i would snap that up
