GTI MK5 eng AXX keeps cutting out after warm up
« on: October 01, 2015, 06:48:29 pm »
Hi all, having a bit of issue with car at the moment, it cut out on me one morning I have traced the fault to tank fuel pump not delivering any fuel, with voltage on it...

after replacing lpfp unit (all Genuine VW parts), went for a drive and as soon it warms up it starts cutting out, no power, even with accelerator pedal depressed.
Have put in new control unit for the pump(resistor unit) too, tried to adapt it according to ross tech and its values are about -985 on both, it doesnt seem to adapt to a engine ecu.  Found MAP sensor wiring chewed at the plug, possibly hit by aircon fans, and air mass sensor fault saying no communication, that was altered after some wiring repaired.

Also have checked fuel pressures on high pressure sensor  about 49.5 bar
low pressure side runs about 6.5 bar with duty cycle only 20%...???

unable to see all values when warm as it wont stay running

as soon as the car warms up the pressure on rail drops from 49.5 bars and engine stalls... :fighting: :fighting:
have noticed that hpfp has been bit quieter than before , ussual noise for them engines, as follower moves on cam lobe.
Have anyone come accross something similiar.?

poped a fault code with :

012555 - Low Pressure Fuel regulation
