Help with VW recall issue
« on: October 01, 2015, 01:44:52 am »
Hi all,

I own a 2011 VW Golf 2.0 TDI Bluemotion and it seems to have developed some sort of a fuel leak. I can smell the fumes quite strong in the car, there has been small water marks on the ground under the car when I move it and it smells like diesel. After visiting two different VW dealerships and being told that it's not part of the recall, I've got in contact with VW. VW have passed the issue into customer relations manager who hasn't called me back in 4 days. The recall I'm on about is 23K2, a recall which concerns fuel leaks in the 2.0 common rail engine and that anti-vibration plates are to be fitted onto the high pressure pipes. Now, despite several cars on forums being covered by this recall with the exact same issue, same year and type, I'm being told that mine doesn't count because the VIN isn't included. I'm finding it hard to believe that my car has the exact same problem mentioned, falls slap bang in the middle of the dates and is of the affected type yet they are not willing to honour a recall request for my car? Does anyone know what my options are from time point? The GOV website and AA website both have a note of the recall.
Aye, that wan.

Small claims court is probably a good start to sort these types of issues out. any company seems to shake at the knees when they hear those 3 words.

Sounds like you've got a pretty good point to make and as soon as someone with some authority at VW hears of it im sure they will sort it for you.

I would call VW again, explain that their Customer Relations Manager hasn't called you back and await their call to you.

Explain your situation and ask for the works to be carried out as a gesture of goodwill. So long as you stay calm and polite you may be surprised, I've had plenty of work carried out on various cars as a gesture of goodwill.  :happy2:

Keeping it original..............or not!!
