Chassis mods for 400 squids what would you buy ??

Well ive had the gti for just over 2 weeks now and spent far too much, New wheels, New tyres, whiteline ALK, VW racing coilovers, and ive got £400 left for chassis mods in my budget. What would you spend the money on. ??

I dont want ARBs as i dont think the golf would benifit from these on the sh*tty uk roads and weather.
I wont be fitting anything until the summer, im really just collecting things at the moment.

I dont think its out yet, but i quite fancyed the whiteline bump steer kit,

so what do you guys think bushes, mounts bump steer kit ??

the budget doesnt include fitting,

arbs in mh opinion. i have coilovers, anti lift kit and arbs, and the arbs have made the biggest differnce of all i think.

alternatively just the rear bar and bump steer kit would make a massive difference

I spoke to VWR about ARBs and they say that they are good but they actually choose to run stock bars on some of their race cars as the standard set up works better in the wet and and some tracks in the dry !

so thats why im not sure about the ARBs !

maybe a rear woulds work well with the bump steer kit. As this should sharpen up the steering on the front and reduce roll a bit with the rear. Anyone know of any adustable ARBs makers that can be bought single !

Aye, you run soft as you can get in the wet - helps with the 'progressiveness' and of course it is all down to driver choice.

Whiteline do singles I'm sure.

I've got H&R on mine, 26/22mm F/R and got the front set on soft and the rear on hard which suits my style, i like a lively arse end lol!

Got H&R arbs myself... everything set to soft setting.  Still a massive difference...one of the best upgrades I have spent money on in my opinion.

just do the rear arb and keep the front stock as u have done coils and walk upfront so making the rear bar stiffer just helps the mods you have made upfront

As good as my Autotech ones are, they're a PITA to get hold of. I had H&R on my last car and they were superb in every respect.

What about the Audi suspension mods that someone did recently, this is something I am thinking of doing.

think you  mean the lower control arms. the cupra and S3 have lighter lower control arms to counter act the additonal weight of the bigger brakes.

another option is to get the lower control arms from an audi TT fitted. gives you the lighter lower control arm and the ability to adjust more negative camber on the front wheels. supposably makes a big difference. thats doable for less than 400

1- Lower control arm
Amount required=2 total, 1 per side
Part number=8J0 407 151 D(same part number for each side)
Total cost= 224 euro for the pair

2- Bolt to attach lower arm(dont know exact name for it)
Amount required= 2 total, 1 per side
Part Number=N 101 410 03
Total cost= 5 euro, (2.50Each)

3- Ball Joints
Amount required= 2 total, 1 per side
Part number= 8J0 407 365(LEFT SIDE), 8J0 407 366(RIGHT SIDE)
Total cost= 92 euro (41 euro each)

4- Ball Joint bolts
Amount required= 6 total, (3 per side)
Part Number= N103 320 02
Total Cost= 2.64 euro (44 cent each)

5- Ball Joint Lock Plates
amount required= 2 total, 1 each side
Part number= 8J0 407 175 (176)
Total Cost= they didnt charge for these????

In total it came to 323 euros+19%tax, so 385 euros total inclusive of VAT
